Call for targeted replication studies in SSLLA
SSLA recently published a special issue, “Replication Studies in Second Language Acquisition,” featuring eleven high-quality replication studies. This milestone reaffirmed our commitment to revisiting important claims and influential findings in the field.
Building on this, we’re now seeking proposals for new replication studies. We’re looking for replications of studies with open materials and/or data that our editorial board considers important, impactful, and truly worthy of re-examination.
Submission Process
Interested authors should submit a short proposal (maximum 500 words) outlining their replication study. The SSLA editorial board will review these proposals. Authors of strong proposals will then be invited to conduct and submit their full replication study to SSLA. This initiative aims to further encourage the replication of significant studies published in SSLA and reinforce the journal’s dedication to robust replication research.
Proposal Requirements
Your proposal, no more than 500 words, must address the following:
Justification for the replication: Why is this study important to replicate?
Type of replication study: Specify if it’s a close, approximate, or other type of replication.
Replication design: Detail your proposed design, including any modifications from the original study, along with their justifications.
Recommended Studies for Replication
